Refunds and cancellation
This page explains how billing for Chat works, how to cancel, and when we refund. The short version: you can cancel in one click, and we email you before any charge.
How the trial and billing work
On the monthly plan, you pay £1 for a 7-day trial with full access, then £29.99 a month from day 7. We email you before the trial ends so the first monthly charge is never a surprise. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing beyond the £1. The quarterly plan (£50.00 every 3 months) and 6-month plan (£89.94 every 6 months) are charged in full when you subscribe, with no trial.
How to cancel
Open Chat, go to your account menu and choose "Manage subscription". Cancelling takes one click and you do not need to contact us. Your subscription then runs until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until that date. No further charges are made.
Refunds
Because you can try Chat for £1 and cancel anytime, we do not normally refund a charge once a billing period has started. There are exceptions:
- we charged you in error, or charged you twice
- you cancelled before renewal but were charged anyway, for example because of a fault on our side
- the service was substantially unavailable during the period
If any of these apply, email support@ansr.ai with the email address on your account. We aim to reply within 2 working days, and approved refunds go back to your original payment card.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy reduces your rights under UK consumer law, including your rights when a digital service is faulty. If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and you keep it. By subscribing you ask us to supply Chat immediately, and if you choose to use it during those 14 days you accept that what has been supplied cannot be returned. Cancelling within the 14 days stops all future charges, but we do not refund a charge once you have used the service after paying it. Cancel within the 14 days without having used the service since the charge and we refund that charge in full. Our terms of service set this out in more detail.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we email you and retry the card over the following days. While payment is outstanding you can still read your chat history but cannot send new messages. Update your card from the account menu to restore access. If payment cannot be collected, the subscription ends and no further charges are made.
